Digital Expansion Module
The Digital Expansion Module (DEM) makes it easy to expand the I/O capacity of the new Field Commander and Unitary Controller devices. Each DEM adds 8 digital inputs and 8 digital outputs, reducing the need for extra controllers and avoiding complex cross-unitary programming. When connected through the controller’s S-LAN–enabled second LAN port, up to fifteen DEMs can be added, providing as many as 120 additional inputs and 120 outputs for scalable, flexible system growth.

The DEM adds eight dry-contact inputs and eight solid-state relay outputs for flexible equipment sensing and control, supporting low-voltage switches and up to 30 V, 1-amp loads. It offers selectable addressing from 2 to 16, with each address mapped directly into the host controller’s point space for simplified integration; address 0 enables a “follow-mode” for basic input-to-output operation without programming. The module includes an 8-LED display for real-time status and diagnostics, along with configurable power-on and communication-loss behaviors. Housed in a DIN-rail–ready enclosure with clear labeling and a color-coded power connector, the DEM runs on up to 30 VDC or AC power and fits seamlessly into the FC-Pro family.
